 El viernes 27 de octubre el gobierno incrementó la violencia contra la Asamblea Popular de los Pueblos de Oaxaca (APPO). Sicarios al mando del desconocido gobernador Ulises Ruiz, asesinaron a 3 miembros más de la APPO y al periodista estadounidense Bradley Roland Will de la agencia independiente de noticias Indymedia. Sumando 15 muertos en lo que va del movimiento pacífico desde hace más de cuatro meses. En estos momentos, 29 de octubre, la PFP esta ingresando de manera violenta a la ciudad, con tanquetas. lanzando gases lacrimogenos, cateando domicilios, deteniendo y golpeando.Han cortado la luz electrica y sacado del aire a Radio Universidad. pero la gente resiste pacificamente, rechazando con cartelones la ocupación y dandoles flores para invitarlos a salir de Oaxaca, o tirandose al piso para impedir que pasen. Mientras el ejercito federal rodea la ciudad con más de 4,000 efectivos.
Como delegados internacionales oficiales, nombrados por la APPO, convocamos a todas las personas de buen corazon a un levantamiento pacifico internacional para que de manera ingeniosa y creativa, actuemos para exigir la destitucion de Ulises Ruiz, la salida del ejercito y PFP de Oaxaca, y solucion a todas las demandas de la APPO, y a los canadienses a tomar parte activa en esta lucha dentro de su territorio para exigir a su gobierno exija al mexicano cesar la violencia contra los Oaxaqueños.
Convocamos a participar en actividades a realizarse este lunes 30 de Octubre desde las 11.00 A.M., afuera del edificio donde estan las oficinas del consulado mexicano .
(1177 West Hastings, Downtown, Vancouver, asi como a la del 3 de noviembre en la actividad informativa en Rhizome Café, 317 East Broadway, Vancouver. Tambien el mismo dia, en Montreal, donde indígenas del CIPO-APPO estaran participando frente al consulado).
Los invitamos a llamar, escribir cartas y correos al gobierno de mexico y de canada para exigir el cese a la represion en Oaxaca.

THE ATTACK IS ON!
On Friday October 27th the Mexican state and federal governments increased yet again their violence against the Popular Assembly of the People of Oaxaca. Hired thugs working for corrupt governor| Ulises Ruiz | killed three more members of APPO and | U.S. journalist Bradley Roland Will from the independent news agency, Indymedia. There is now a total of 15 dead over the more than four months of this peaceful movement.
At this very moment, on the 29th of October the PFP, the Federal Police, are | invading Oaxaca City| with tanks| and are launching tear gas, destroying homes, detaining and beating people. They have cut electrical power and have removed Radio University from the air. People are continuing peacefully to resist, holding up cardboard signs against guns, and giving flowers to the military, inviting them to leave Oaxaca, and throwing themselves on the ground to block the forward movement of the troops. In the meantime there are more than 4000 federal officers ringing the city.
As official international delegates of APPO, we call all people of good heart to a peaceful international uprising, so that in a clever and creative way we can demand the removal of Ulises Ruiz, the removal of the army and the preventative police from Oaxaca and the solution to the demands of APPO. We invite Canadians to take an active part in this campaign by demanding that their government insist| that the Mexican government desists in its acts of violence against Oaxacans.
Please join us in the activities to take place this Monday October 30th starting at 11am in front of the building which houses the Mexican Consulate (1177 W. Hastings, Downtown Vancouver), and also to come to the activity on November 3 at Rhizome Café, 317 E. Broadway, Vancouver. The same day, in Montreal, Indigenous leaders from CIPO-APPO will be participating in actions in front of the consulate in that city. We invite you to phone, write letters and emails to the Mexican and Canadian governments demanding an end to repression in Oaxaca.
